Collection: Ray Swirsky

Ray Swirsky is a contemporary western oil painter based in Calgary, Alberta. As an active plein-air painter, Ray is always seeking to find and copy the colours that only exist in nature. When in the studio Ray works the canvas pushing strong colours with high contrast coupled with a masterful use of light which makes these dynamic works come alive. Ray is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (AFCA), the Alberta Society of Artists (ASA), Artists for Conservation, Oil Painters of America, and a founding member of the newly formed First Nations Arts Alliance. Ray has been a regular exhibitor at the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede Artist’s Studio (since 2019), Spruce Meadows Masters (since 2021), Calgary Art Market (since 2022)and The Great Western Art Show in Montana (since 2023). Ray’s work is included in numerous private and corporate collections throughout Canada, USA, UK and South Africa.
